I've taught Chinese online for 10 years, and I build each lesson around your goal, whether that's passing the HSK, holding real conversations, or both. Expect plenty of speaking time, gentle and specific corrections, and vocabulary you'll actually use. For exam students, I focus on the patterns that come up again and again. Between lessons, you can keep practicing with my HSK app and the daily quizzes on my YouTube channel.
Everyday situations, useful phrases, and practice materials are included. English support is welcome when you need it.

Hi! I've been teaching Chinese to learners from all over the world for about 10 years, and I still love the moment a sentence finally "clicks" for a student. Before teaching full time, I worked as a product manager at italki, so I've seen language learning from both sides: as a teacher, and as someone building the tools learners use. That experience shapes how I teach. I care about clear structure, real progress you can feel, and not wasting your time. Over the years I've also built a YouTube channel for Chinese learners (40k+ subscribers), where I still post a daily quiz that hundreds of learners answer every day. I created Pass HSK, an app for HSK exam prep, too. All of this means I know where learners usually get stuck, and how to get them unstuck. Outside of teaching, I build apps and explore AI tools, and I'm a parent, which has taught me a lot about patience and making learning fun. Whether you're starting from zero or polishing advanced Chinese, I'd love to help you get there.

I'm based in China (UTC+8) and usually teach weekday 9:30am to 4:30pm. My schedule shifts a little week to week, so please check Availability for the exact open slots.
